Jsou to r\u016fzn\u00e9 procesy, jak r\u016fzn\u00ed lid\u00e9 p\u0159istupuj\u00ed ke sv\u00fdm probl\u00e9m\u016fm. Mnohdy by bylo nejrozumn\u011bj\u0161\u00ed a snad i nejjednodu\u0161\u0161\u00ed, p\u0159iznat si to, jak\u00e9 probl\u00e9my m\u00e1me, specificky se na n\u011b zam\u011b\u0159it a hledat vhodn\u00e1 \u0159e\u0161en\u00ed. Copingov\u00e1 strategie m\u00e1 ve sv\u00e9 podstat\u011b velmi d\u016fle\u017eitou roli, m\u016f\u017ee se tak p\u0159eklenout doba, po kterou nen\u00ed dan\u00fd \u010dlov\u011bk schopen vyrovnat se se \u017eivotn\u00ed situac\u00ed, kterou s\u00e1m jednodu\u0161e nem\u016f\u017ee \u0159e\u0161it, jako je t\u0159eba ztr\u00e1ta n\u011bkoho bl\u00edzk\u00e9ho.
